A Journey In Search of the Tigers

I know, I'm from New York and the Yankees are the other New York team (other than the Mets) and saying anything nice about the Tigers may give some the impression that I as a Met fan am disloyal to the Yankees, but nothing could be further than the truth. i really like the Tigers. Go figure!
Here are some pictures of my journey backwards into Tiger Time.

I set out for the corner of Michigan and Trumbull
in search of the power spot of all Tiger power. Tiger power tends to erupt once a decade. You had the Ty Cobb years in the 00 and the 10s, and the 20s were great too, and then the 30s were great, with Goose Goslin, Charlie Gehringer and Hank Greenberg. Then you had the 40s which were great too. The fifties were terrible, but just a blip on the screen of Tiger history. And in 1968 you had that wonderful World Series. Then the so-so 70s, then the 80s with Kirk Gibson and the 90s with Cecil Fielder, and now the 06 Miracle Cats.

It will be hard to get a ticket for the Yankee game at Comerica Park. Baseball has always been popular in Motor City, but it will be harder to get a ticket for Tiger Stadium, as they have long stopped selling them.

WILL CALL: Tiger stadium has been empty for a long time, and if you haven't picked up your WILL CALL tickets for the 1984 playoffs by now, you never will.
